pasteurization sterilization history  
Without the pasteurization, and without William-Patrick de STOUTZ, founder of the company ACTINI, the modern alimentation would not exist. .
 


He invented the first electrical pasteurization machine in 1936, using infrared in order to heat a liquid flowing inside a tubular exchanger.

 

   
 

1950s - 1960s: birth of the Actinisateur

In 1953, he founded the company ACTINI-France, developed his patents, built and marketed the first "Actinisateurs", aimed at pasteurizing milk, either in dairy plants, or directly at the farm.Till the end of the 1960s', the "actinisateurs" are even exported to Greece and USSR.

1970s - 1980s: the Actitube® become more and more present.

In the 70s, ACTINI SA has kept on developing innovative technologies: :

  • The Aqua-Stoutz®, a water sterilizer by ultra-violets
  • A range of monotubular thermal exchanger to pasteurize honey, liquid eggs, fruit juices, sauces, soups.
  • The 1st generation of aseptic Actitube® exchangers with free dilatation for the UHT milk treatment,
  • The designing of a "Flash" cooling system.

The capacities which corresponded to about 1.000 l/h at the end of the 1960s, go now up to 20.000 l/h! The export also grows spectacularly. The company sets up on its actual location, near Evian, in 1988.

1990s - 2000: World premičre, in exclusivity

Since 1991, the company ACTINI has been developing and marketing a brand new technology, the Actijoule®, which uses the Joule's effect as a heating process

It has also designed the Agrolactor®, a real "mechanical cow", which allows the production of vegetal milks from water and cereals or beans, and their processing into analog products..

The company ACTINI keeps on innovating in all the fields it is specialized: :

  • Entirely aseptic process,
  • Cooking in a continuous way,
  • Increased heat treatment speed for the fragile products
  • Improvement in the Cleaning in Place (CIP) systems,
  • Research works on the valorization of the vegetal milks

The second generation of Actitube® and Actijoule® has been equipped with multilobe or corrugated tubes in order to solve the fouling or homogenization problems.

In 1999,in order to face its growth, ACTINI focused on its core activities and created new companies. The GROUPE ACTINI is born. It is made of four companies:

ACTINI SA manufactures heat treatment tubular exchangers aimed at preserving the food liquids,

ACTINI Bio-Pharma manufactures thermal treatment tubular exchangers aimed at treating pharmaceutical and biotechnological liquids,,

ACTINI PROCESSING valorizes the ACTINI's know-how and designs complete aseptic treatment lines,

NUTRITECH SA NUTRITECH focuses on the vegetal milk production process .

The GROUPE ACTINI is today present in 140 countries with more than 5.000 installations.
